Step 2: Sign Up at Yahoo for a free Yahoo ID (if you don't already have one).

Step 3: Explore Respond to the Yahoo groups link that is emailed to you, inviting you to join the exchange. Here you can look around and get familiar with the site,  (the database feature for access to emails, will is not available until the start date).

Step 4: It starts every September! Use the database feature on the Yahoo groups web site to Email the troops you are interested in exchanging with.  Respond to similar requests from other troops.

If you agree to exchange, then trade your mailing addresses.  DO NOT send your mailing information until the trade has been agreed upon by both parties.

10+ YEARS STRONG

Welcoming all Scouts and Guides of all ages ... Girls, Boys &  Leaders... all around the globe!

Please join us as we come together to celebrate the birthdays of both Lord Baden-Powell and Lady Baden-Powell, February 22nd. Scouts and Guides all over the world celebrate this day in international friendship and world peace. This project was designed to help  Scouts and Guides around the world learn about their brothers and sisters in scouting. In this project you will exchange postcards with other troops and units to learn more about them and what they do.

Each year this exchange allows leaders & troops/packs/units from around the world to exchange postcards with each other prior to Thinking Day 2008. This will be the tenth year and we are looking forward to getting it all started and to it becoming the biggest and best yet!

The Exchange is ongoing now until February 2008! To get your troop on the list of participants please fill out the appropriate form from the drop down box above.

Please go to the Exchange Rules link to review the rules for this years exchange.

After you have read the rules you can locate the group website by logging on to the Yahoo Groups portal and go to My Groups.
The 'Database' option will not be available until the trading begins in September. Click on the link for this eGroup.  Once there you will see a list on the left side.  Click on 'Database'.  Here you will find the list of all the troops participating.  You MUST have a Yahoo ID in order to get to this page.  A Yahoo ID does not cost anything.

Templates have been created for you to use in keeping up with your trades, one in Microsoft Word and one in Excel.  These templates are located in the 'Files' section of the Postcard Exchange site on Yahoo.

Once you have reached your limit please contact your State or Country's Moderator listed on the Contact Page and we will take your email address off of the website so you won't be contacted anymore.

Don't wait until the last minute to order patches!

Yours In Scouting,

Jan McKinney
